The Juno-6-Nord-Wave-Rhodes bed of this track was first recorded by Matt and Joey back in 2014. The concept: an ambient 30-minute soundscape whittled down into something more cohesive but still unmoored. As we finished up the Everything, Compromised sessions, it rested in the guest room. We finally woke it back up in 2018 to live its dream as part of the project that would become Vault of Light. Unlike the rest of this record, “Wrapped in Blue” was recorded almost entirely via long-distance collaboration with no more than two of us in the same room at the same time. After Shane started experimenting with saxophone and violin arrangements, this song unfolded in unpredictable ways. We love it--hope you will, too!
